Head Coach: Tyson Eslinger

I am looking forward to competing day in and day out with all the girls and growing their basketball skills, knowledge of the game, and us growing as a team. Basketball is a challenging game and requires showing up to practice to develop those skills and working hard. I believe we have a group of girls who will do that, and as the season goes along, Spartan fans will see that hard work pay off for the players and team.I graduated from Deerfield High School in 2000 and then played a little college golf at Fort Hays State University before transferring to Newman University and graduating in 2007. After that, I accepted a teaching and coaching position in Dighton, KS. I was the 7-12th grade History teacher, Head Boys Basketball Coach, and Head Golf Coach. After a few years there, I moved on to Garden City School District, where I taught History at KH and GCHS. During my time in GC, I was Head JV Boys Basketball Coach and Assistant Varsity, Head Freshman Football Coach, and Head Track Coach at KH. I have also spent time coaching girls and boys basketball at the middle school level here in Deerfield and Garden City, as well as football at the middle school level. I left coaching when I became a Principal. I am in my 2nd year at USD 216, and I am the Superintendent of Schools. My family is a great support and a big reason why I have the opportunity this year to work with this great group of girls that we have on our HS basketball team.
