USD 216 is excited to introduce Mrs. Courtney Rubio as our new High School Social Studies Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Rubio graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Courtney was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. Her family consists of her husband Luis, and their four kids Sophia who is 7, Lily who is 5, Nate who is 2, and Angie who is 9 months. When Mrs. Rubio is not working, she enjoys reading books (especially series), swimming/anything with water, and spending time with my family. As she gets started in his new position with the district this fall, her goal for her first year at Deerfield High School is to connect with the staff, students, and community. I hope to get students excited about learning social studies and involved in their community.
