Mr. Zach Towle

USD 216 is excited to introduce Mr. Zach Towle as our new Head HS Boys Basketball Coach for the 2022-23 school year. As a coach, he spent eight years coaching college basketball at Northeast Nebraska, Mineral Area Community College, Otero Junior College, and most recently, Garden City Community College; at Otero, he helped the Rattlers finish 25-7 during the 2019-20 season, which included a No. 4 national ranking-the highest in school history. Before landing in La Junta, CO, Towle was an assistant at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, MO, where the Cardinals went 23-9 and made it to the Region Championship Game. Prior to that, he spent four seasons as a player-development coach and recruiting coordinator at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb, punching out a pair of 20-win campaigns. As a player, he was a four-year starter at Concordia Academy, becoming one of the best three-point shooters in the state. Coach Towle was one of the career leaders in Minnesota history in triples made in a career and scored more than 2,500 points. He received his associate's degree from Northeast Community College and his Bachelor's from Ashford University. Then in 2018, Coach Towle earned his Master of Business Administration from Ashford. Coach Towle said, “this has been a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid to be a head coach and I am happy that I have been given the opportunity to lead the Spartans. My goals are to make sure we are competing everyday. Be successful on the court and in the classroom. My mentors have prepared me for this moment and I am ready to lead the Spartans.” Please welcome Mr. Zach Towle to USD 216, and we can’t wait to see the impact he has on our district and men’s basketball program. #InTheArena #Spartans216
