Boys game

The Spartans struggled to score and put themselves in an early hole going down 0-16 in the first quarter. They fought their way back all game losing 45-12. The boys showed much improvement from last year's loss of 80-33 and lost 45-12. The boys have been playing both games without last year's leading scorers, Jesus Amaro and Gabe Lopez. This was a game where we needed Jesus' scoring threat when the offense started to stall. The Spartans battled all play with their Hodgeman County big guys all night. Coach Towle said I am very proud of how the team competed both nights. I only have two weeks to learn a new system, and it will take time, but they have given me everything, and now it's my job to find ways to score the basketball. Our defense has not been the problem. We just have struggled to put the ball in the basket. Spartans return on Monday away at Minneola with a first-round matchup against Satanta.
