On Tuesday, the Lady Spartans traveled to Western Plains. The girls played well and came home with a win. The final score was Deerfield 53 and Western Plains 41. Below are a few words from coach Eslinger
Playing back-to-back nights took its toll on us in the first half. We were one step behind, we did not have great attitudes, and our effort was not where it needed to be. We were very fortunate to be up two going into halftime. In the second half, the girls responded to the challenge and played one of our best, if not our best, half of basketball. A 20-point 3rd quarter was the difference for us to pull away and secure our 3rd straight win. We are proud of the girls and look forward to what the last part of the season has in store for us.
