Deerfield USD 216 - Home of the Spartans

Our USD 216 Yearbook is officially available for pre-order! We have made it available to purchase through skyward (in the same area where you pay fees and lunch bills). You can also send in a check made payable to USD 216 or cash. These can be turned into Mrs. Rubio. Make sure if you do cash or check that you send information of who is receiving that yearbook.

From now until December 18th, you can pre-order the 2026 yearbook for $35. After that, the price will increase to $40. So order yours today! If you have any questions feel free to email or parent square message Mrs. Rubio.

HS/MS Weekly Spartan Shield for 10/27-11/1.

Today in DARE we had what I call a supplemental lesson where we show the kids two sets of lungs, one healthy and one simulated to look like a person who smokes. We also spoke about the dangers of inhaling poison fumes and what life is like if you make a poor choice and have to spend time in jail.

Today’s DARE lesson was on Risk and Consequences. We also practiced/added the second step “asses” to the DARE decision making model.

Calling all Spartan fans! Come out this Thursday evening for a fun night of homecoming events! Events begin at 6pm in the main gym. We hope to see you there!

In Mrs. Rubio’s class, our current unit has been about Revolutions, and this week we learned about the Boston Tea Party. Students were curious about how the tea changed the water, so we completed an experiment during our note time. We had two cups, one with hot water and one with cold and let them steep throughout class. At the end, we discussed the differences and what they thought about how it would have impacted the Boston Harbor. #WeAreSpartans #EverydayExcellence

I was lucky to be able to sit in our entrepreneurship fundamentals class this afternoon and watch their presentations. They did a great job presenting their franchises projects to their classmates!

Come out this Saturday and cheer on our Spartan XC team as they will be competing in Lakin at the golf course. Our Spartan runners have been working extremely hard this season!

Kicking off DARE at Deerfield! A small but mighty 6th grade class!

We are collecting names of those that will be recognized at half time of the pink night football game. If you would like to honor a family member or friends feel free to contact Sheryl Smith or Kinlee Scheer. At half time we will recognize survivors, fighter, and those that have become our guardian angels. Those receiving recognition will come on the field and be recognized and given a flower before the moment of silence. On Oct. 17 Homecoming will be at 6:30 Kick off at 7:00 During the game we will have the bake sale (baked good donations welcome) Pumpkin raffle, pinwheels sale (you can add names of loved ones who have fought cancer and we will place them behind the endzone) and other pink night items. XC competed in Ness City this afternoon! They all ran extremely well! Congratulations to Jermiah on his victory in his race!
