Many fun activities happened in TWIX this week! Arts and Crafts drawing/painting on a canvas, cooking club made red velvet cupcakes and voted on blue frosting so we could “eat” our school colors, sports club played basketball, littles club learned about fire safety and colored a firefighter! #InTheArena #Spartans216

The MS volleyball and football teams traveled to Sublette for their season's first game. Both teams played hard but fell short. #InTheArena #Spartans216

Today, the HS Volleyball team had their first home Triangular. The Varsity Lady Spartans worked hard but fell short and went 0-2. The JV Lady Spartans went 1-2. Good work, ladies. #InTheArena #Spartans216

One of the best things today was when students introduced themselves to Senator John Doll! He was able to visit with our students one on one today and learned about what they are doing in our school to further their success after graduation! #InTheArena #Spartans216

Today HS STUCO, FFA, and NHS traveled to Sublette to attend the kick off to a series of showcases put on by the Western Kansas Careers Showcases group. These showcases highlight industries in SWKS in many pathways offered here at USD216. Opportunities like these provide our students with time to network with industries leaders to learn what is available to them right in their own backyard!

Super proud of the Deerfield MS/HS XC teams today. We have 4 MS girls in the top 10. We had 4 MS boys in the top 10 with Daniel getting 3rd and Jeremiah getting 2nd place medals. We had 2 HS boys in the top 10 with Vayro getting a 9th place medal and Colton a 7th place medal. Thanks to the amazing support crew of families who help run water, donate snacks and do whatever else is needed!! #InTheArena #Spartans216

This week, students in Esports Media class were learning about Intellectual Property and recent cases involving topics like copyright infringement. They had to summarize three cases and create a flyer in Canva showcases their information. This is an important topic for students to understand going into their future employment for many industries. #InTheArena #Spartans216
