HS/MS Spartan Shield Weekly Update for 11/3-11/8.

Attention Spartan fans- Due to injuries and keeping our kids safety as a priority, we unfortunately have to cancel the game on Thursday and end our season early. Thank you for a great season, and all the support you provided the team! We are looking forward to a great 6 man season in the fall of 2026.

Our FFA crew has been busy today in St. Louis. They spent time learning about the historic information about St. Louis.

Today in DARE at Deerfield we learned about pressure and peer pressure and resistance strategies when faced with peer pressure. We also added “respond“ to the DARE Decision Making Model.

Come out on Thursday evening and cheer on our Spartan football team as they will be taking on Dighton at 6pm in Deerfield.

Our FFA group stopped for lunch this afternoon at Fritz’s in KC! They have made it safely to St. Louis this evening. They will continue onto Indianapolis in the morning for FFA Nationals!

Race day! Good luck to our high school Spartan XC team as they compete at Regionals in Ellis, KS with the first race beginning at 10am.

Our USD 216 Yearbook is officially available for pre-order! We have made it available to purchase through skyward (in the same area where you pay fees and lunch bills). You can also send in a check made payable to USD 216 or cash. These can be turned into Mrs. Rubio. Make sure if you do cash or check that you send information of who is receiving that yearbook.

From now until December 18th, you can pre-order the 2026 yearbook for $35. After that, the price will increase to $40. So order yours today! If you have any questions feel free to email or parent square message Mrs. Rubio.

HS/MS Weekly Spartan Shield for 10/27-11/1.

Today in DARE we had what I call a supplemental lesson where we show the kids two sets of lungs, one healthy and one simulated to look like a person who smokes. We also spoke about the dangers of inhaling poison fumes and what life is like if you make a poor choice and have to spend time in jail.

Game day in Spartan Country! Good luck to our Lady Spartans this afternoon as they compete in their volleyball regionals in Attic,KS. 🏐

Game day in Spartan Country! It's homecoming night! Coronation begins at 6:30pm! It's also pink night so we will have our cancer recognition at halftime. Finally, our little Spartan cheer clinic will before tonight as well. Come out and support our Spartans!

Today’s DARE lesson was on Risk and Consequences. We also practiced/added the second step “asses” to the DARE decision making model.

Calling all Spartan fans! Come out this Thursday evening for a fun night of homecoming events! Events begin at 6pm in the main gym. We hope to see you there!

In Mrs. Rubio’s class, our current unit has been about Revolutions, and this week we learned about the Boston Tea Party. Students were curious about how the tea changed the water, so we completed an experiment during our note time. We had two cups, one with hot water and one with cold and let them steep throughout class. At the end, we discussed the differences and what they thought about how it would have impacted the Boston Harbor. #WeAreSpartans #EverydayExcellence
