On September 27th, Student Council members from Deerfield Middle School and Deerfield High School attended the Student Council Regional Conference in Dodge City. There were around 450 students from Southwest Kansas to hear The "Amazing" Tei Street, a powerful motivational speaker. Kids really enjoyed working and socializing with other student council members from our region, and loved Tei's message to think positively and make good, healthy decisions. Our students represented our area with class and a wonderful energy that made the day a special one.

Today during class, English 1 students practiced their text-based vocabulary in a word sort (matching word to definition) and then used the vocab in a grade level sentence to demonstrate understanding.

Kindergarten is working on writing a sentence using The letter I and a picture. Examples they all came up with are (I run) (I eat) and (I slide).

Today the first graders are finding the vowels and working on boom cards. Boom cards help them find words that start with a certain letter using pictures.
